While Parker Farris has scored in double figures in every game except against Division I Hawaii, Brian Ishola (16.5 points and 8.5 rebounds a game), Ryley Callaghan (10.7) and Darius Johnson-Wilson (10.6) also average in double figures. …

BYU-Hawaii is coming off an 80-79 victory over Azusa Pacific on Saturday in which Tanner Nelson hit a three-pointer with 13 seconds left and Shad Watson nailed seven 3-pointers and scored 26 points. …

The win snapped a six-game losing streak and gave the Seasiders their second conference victory of the season. BYUH began the conference year with a 90-80 win over Holy Names on December 3, but hadn’t seen the win column since. …

Sophomore guard Nelson leads the Seasiders in scoring with 18 points a game, fifth best in the PacWest, including a 35-point effort against Alaska. Watson, a 6-1 freshman guard, averages 3.2 three-pointers a game, third in the conference. …

The Seasiders won both games between the two teams last year and have won the last three games in the series.

The skinny: The UHH women used got solid efforts from a pair of homegrown products to beat Concordia last Saturday. Hilo graduates Sharlei Graham-Bernisto and Amber Vaughn contributed 13 and 11 points, respectively, and Ka‘u graduate Pilialoha Kailiawa grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds, giving the senior 19 in her past two games to help makeup for the absences of Asia Smith and Patience Taylor. …

The Vulcans are 1-1 at BYU-Hawaii this year, where they opened the year at the Seasider Classic…

Sophomorer Kim Schmelz (11.5 points) and Sydney Mercer (10.3) average in double figures, but Graham-Bernisto leads the squad in minutes played (29.5 per game). …

The 49ers are the preseason conference favorite, but they are just 6-12 and 1-11 on the road thanks to a challenging nonconference schedule. Junior guard Evan Payne leads the team in scoring at 14.2 ppg. …

Sophomore forward Jack Purchase has been UH’s leading scorer in the past five games, averaging 12.4 ppg while going 15-of-36 from behind the arc, though a pair of true freshmen have led UH in scoring in each of the last two games. Leland Green paved the way with 12 points at Cal State Fullerton, while Matthew Owies poured in a season-high 13 points at UC Irvine. …

Long Beach swept the regular-season series last year with wins in Honolulu, 78-64, and Long Beach, 74-72, and have won six of eight Big West regular-season meetings. UH, however, has ousted the 49ers in each of the last two Big West Tournaments

The skinny: Lahni Salanoa scored a career-high 19 points Thursday in Honolulu and the Wahine won their first Big West game. …

Salanoa surpassed her previous high of 13 points, going 6-of-13 from the field and 5-for-7 from the line, and added five rebounds. Senior Briana Harris provided a spark off the bench, adding 14 points, four rebounds, two assists and three steals. …

Hawaii matched a season low with 12 turnovers, while the Titans committed 21.

The skinny: Stijn van Tilburg led the Rainbow Warriors with 17 kills while Austin Mautautia added seven for UH, which is off to a 5-0 start for the first time since 2003.
